So lovely to hear your process and also I relate to the idea of rationality or planning or thinking brain being the plus one! I’m excited for you and cheering you on in your processes now that you’re back home!
“Often it’s not figuring out where I’m going that lets me move forward, but letting go of the need for orientation.” This and the next sentence. Pretty much my life since the start of adulthood.
So glad you had this time! And yes, yes: trusting the eerie and intuitive, as you put it beautifully, trusting the mess. I struggle with this so much, too (even as a poet! with maybe more leeway for the messy and weird!). I hope the weeks there continue to unfurl in all kinds of good and supportive ways. (Also please let me/us know how finding different kinds of time goes - also a big/constant question for me - I forget if you have read Jenny Odell's new book? If you haven't, it's amazing.)
Thank you so much, Kasey! It is a puzzle figuring out how to have enough time/space to settle into that eerie process, and I will share any revelations I have in trying to solve that riddle. And please do the same! ❤️ I have not read Jenny Odell’s new book--thank you for the recommendation.

Thank you for witnessing this process unfold for so many months and years, Kate. I'm excited to keep sharing it with you.

Well shoot, I hadn’t even thought of that broader implication. Maybe me, too? Always appreciate your astute reading and reflections, Dan. 🌟
